Vegas Video vs. Premiere

insert content here

Just about the most useful feature of Premiere Pro is the "sequences" structure, which allows you to create and edit multiple short segments of a video and then combine them into a master sequence.  You can always go back and re-edit any sequence, which is then automatically updated on the master time line (with complications, if you change the length).

This is terrifically useful for longer videos.  I don't see anything like this in Vegas, though helpful people on the internet suggest there is nothing to prevent you from creating a number of short sequences and then combining them, each in their own project file.

Update:  Sony now produces a much cheaper version of Vegas, probably to compete with Adobe's Premiere Elements.
