To apply a password to multiple PDFs:

Choose Advanced from the Toolbar / Document Processing / Batch processing.

You can point it to a directory as the source of the documents (this is the batch part).

Choose "Encrypt" and selection Options.  (Sounds like it's going to encrypt the entire document but, no, just password protect it so it cannot be edited or copied).

From Options, allow document to be read without password, but not edited.

An option to "add password" is offered.


Acrobat - Protect Docs

The last time I did it (2015-02-24) it required an approving click for each individual PDF.  There must be some way to have it not do it.

After doing steps in slightly different sequence, it processed the entire batch without prompting.



Not sure how this fits in with the requirements of the Tax Receipt issues.
